Our neighbor, Cindy taught us how to make these cute sunflower cupcakes. I just had to take pictures before the kids devoured them!

Construction Cake
Joey's 3rd birthday
Watch out! This cake is under construction!
Well, it was supposed to be a Bob the Builder cake, but I couldn't find anything in the store that I wanted to put on the cake. So, we found this cute construction set that was perfect. Joey loved the cake and he actually loves playing with the construction set too.
Black Bottom Heart Cake
Tim's birthday
Okay, it looks really gross, but this is another black bottom cake that is so delicious - one of Tim's favorite, with chocolate and cream cheese.
My Sister's Hands CD cover
While I was in the Relief Society Presidency I was asked to design the cover for a CD we were giving to the sisters for Mother's Day. After taking many photographs of the Relief Society Presidency's hands, we decided to take some pictures of Pam (a counselor) with her Mother in Law. They ended up being the perfect shots!
Miss Kilburn's Poster
I was asked to make a poster for Ashlyn's 5th grade teacher, Miss Kilburn, for teacher appreciation week. This is what I came up with. I printed out jewels for the kids in the class to write a message on. The treasure box was filled with chocolate gold coins...and I hear those chocolate were gone within the first few minutes of school.
You Rock, Miss Kilburn!
Bug cake
Bobby and Michael's 6th birthday
They had cupcakes decorated with bugs, spiders, and ants. Here is one of them below. I also hid gummy worms in the frosting and chocolate teddy grahams dirt.
Bug Balloons
Bobby and Michael's 6th birthday
The boys wanted a bug birthday, with all sorts of creepy, crawly things...
I didn't plan too many decorations, but the room needed something. So I got out the balloons, scrapbook paper, and tape and made a bunch of bugs - spiders, bees, beetles, ladybugs and such. It was a lot of fun. There is no limit to the type of bugs you can make. My favorites are the bee and spider. All the kids that came to the party wanted to take a balloon home.
Conference Squares Activity
Here is a General Conference activity we created as a family. We took half sheets of paper (any size would work - depending on size of TV) and wrote church topics and principles at the top of each paper. We divided up the papers and had each of the kids draw and color a picture to go along with the church principle listed on the paper. Then we hung them all over the TV screen. When we watched conference, the kids are able to take off the papers as they hear the word said in the talks. It is fun to see if you can get all the papers off the TV before conference is over. It also helps the kids listen to the talks. We always give them a special treat if all the papers come off the TV during conference.
One time we had all the papers off the TV except one. It was called Word of Wisdom. We were down to the closing prayer and the person giving the prayer miraculously said, "Thank you for these words of wisdom..." The kids were so excited - we just had to count it!
Topic ideas: Prayer, tithing, prophet, Jesus, Holy Ghost, missionary, love, family, sacrament, faith, Joseph Smith, scriptures, service, temple, testimony, Sunday, baptism, church, etc.
There is no limit to the topics used. We always let the kids help us come up with the topics.
Crofts Woodburning Sign
Well, this was a gift to my parents on their birthday. It was kind of an experiment to see if I could actually enjoy woodburning. It went okay. I need A LOT more practice!! (And better woodburning tips.)
Pound cake
Ashlyn's 10th birthday
Okay, so it wasn't pretty, but it was a very yummy pound cake smothered in chocolate. Oh, so good...

Joey's Birth Announcement
I designed and photographed this card to annouce the birth of our son, Joey. Birth information was included on the inside of the card.
Banana Bread Cake
Ashlyn's 9th birthday
The easiest cake I ever made was this banana bread recipe baked in a heart shaped pan.
Christmas Tree of Presents
Here is a fun and creative way to surprise the kids on Christmas morning. Our tree was in the wrong room, so Santa stacked the presents into the shape of a tree. The kids were so shocked! (Hint: Place a chair in the center and stack the presents around it to make it bigger and taller.)
Reel Sweet and Just Write Logo
Bugs and Flowers Cake
Ashlyn's 8th birthday celebration
While we were visiting Oregon for Ashlyn's baptism, Grandma Leffel and I made this creepy bug cake for Ashlyn. It was made of layers of cake and ice cream with oreos crumbled throughout and on the top (to look like dirt). Want a scoop?
Baptism Congratulations Poster
We made three of these cute posters to wish congratulations to Ashlyn and her cousins, Josh and Alyssa on their baptism.
Lizzie McGuire Cake
Ashlyn's 8th Birthday
Ashlyn had her first slumber party this year and she was so excited! She wanted a Lizzie McGuire cake so bad. I couldn't find anything Lizzie in the store, so I bought an assortment of "girlie" things to decorate it with. I also bought a simple cake decorating book and taught myself how to make these pretty swirls and flowers.
Tool cake
Made for Papa's (my dad) birthday. He can fix just about anything, so I thought it would be appropriate to put tools on his cake.
Candy cake
Made for Grandma's birthday. There is a big hunk candy bar attached to the back side of this cake. Grandma definitely has a sweet tooth.
Black Bottom Cake
Tim loves Black Bottom Cupcakes, so he asked for a Black Bottom Cake for his birthday. It's chocolate cake with cream cheese/chocolate chips mixture dropped into the batter. It wasn't very pretty, but it sure tasted good.
Harry Potter

Ashlyn's 7th Birthday
I used dry ice and root beer in the black pot to give it a nice bubbling effect.
A place to call home...
I decided to start a blog so I have a place to post pictures of all my cakes and other creations. Kitty Kreations is the name of my business, if I had one! (I used to have the nickname Kitt when I was younger.) So there you have it. Enjoy my blog...
Coming soon: I will post pictures of all the birthday cakes I have made in the past.
